New Day, New Place

I moved into my new place last week. Its nice. Nothing to brag about, but still nice. I haven't really done much in the way of decorating or packing or...anything really. I set up the tv (because who can live without tv and internet?) and I set up my bed. I washed the dishes and went grocery shopping. And some of my clothes have made their way to hangers in the closet.

That's about it.

I'm starting pretty fresh. Aside from the basics, I didn't bring anything else with me. Sooner or later i'll be adding more furniture, more decorative ish, and whatever catches my eye.

Right now, I'm living pretty bare bones. But that's ok cuz as long as I have a bed to sleep on, chairs to sit on and a tv to watch- I'm straight! The next semester is startin very soon so i'll too busy with my students moving in to be bothered by scantily furnished apartment anyway lol.

My parents are coming to visit for Turkey Day in November. So I guess I have until then to make the place fab.

I did put up one piece of "artwork" though lol:

Sidenote: I just visited Sisi Yemmie's blog and can I just say it seriously amazes me how people find the time/energy/patience not only to take care of their hair, but to actually style or come up with styles for it. Especially with natural hair. It has been 2 years and some change since my last relaxer and aside from braids and blow-outs, i've managed to do like 3 braid outs, 2 twist outs and that's about it lol. Shameful. I will be trying that bun soon though.

Some people will buy ANYTHING!

I was cruising the streets of facebook and saw a article about a woman who sells her panties on the internet.

No she's not a seamstress or whatever you call people who manufacture undergarments.

She's selling her used- worn for several days at a time- panties. That is one helluva side hustle! My first reaction honestly was...where do I sign up? I have tons of underwear that are just sitting around and if some perv or closet crossdresser or whoever wants to pay me for them, who am I to object?!?

I really would like to meet the person who even came up with this idea. I've been contemplating what my side hustle should be, and while "other" work of some sort that wouldn't make me feel completely amoral came to mind, selling my dirty drawers never crossed my mind lol.

I'm talking big now, but I can't imagine actually going through with anything like this but for those who can...more power to ya!

Can we talk about how much of a loser i am

We all know I love The Big Bang Theory (the tv show, not the theory itself) right? Well, surprise surprise, I haven't watched it in like...a year. Aside from a random episode or clip here and there.

Sad, I know.

Anyway, so I'm sitting here with some down time in my schedule so I decided to catch myself up on what's been happening with my favorite nerds. And I see the clip for the ending of Season 8.

*SPOILER ALERT*

OMG, Sheldon and Amy are on a break?!? Sheldon was going to propose?!? OMG. And this is where the loser in me comes bursting out: I burst into tears watching that scene. Like, legit tears! That was perhaps one of the saddest tv moments for me since Warrick Brown died on CSI!

I'm most definitely from New York

Long Beach (NY, not Cali)
I've been traveling a lot lately. Well... a lot by MY standards.

I went for my family reunion in the Bronx. I visited Philly. And I traveled to Cleveland on assignment for work for a few days. I'm tired of airports now. One thing I will say is that I do enjoy seeing the different designs and layouts and artwork on display in various airports. I never really paid it much mind until fairly recently.

My visit to the Empire State was the first time i had been home since 2011! I had a BLAST! I didn't even do anything special lol. Just being there was enough. Getting to see family, a friend or two, riding through my hometown(s). It was amazing. I can't wait to go back. Definitely not gonna wait another 4 years though.

My visit to Philly was the first time (as far as I know) that I'd ever been there. The nerd in me had a great time. I can see myself having a summer home there. Or at least a timeshare so I can visit every so often. I'm not trying to make snow storms a permanent part of my life so living there would def have to be a seasonal thing.
From Philadelphia, with love!

The Liberty Bell

Cleveland was purely business. I didn't get to do anything really while I was there. But still, its always nice to go someplace new...even if you don't partake in all the city has to offer. Next time i go, i'll definitely have to plan a few outings while i'm there.
Welcome to Cleveland!

Barbie's Dream House

I don't know why but I suddenly have an interest in home ownership. I'm not in a place (I don't think) to be buying a home. Nothing has changed significantly in my life as of late. IDK. It just kind of hit me out of nowhere. And every other day, something just seems to be guiding me in that direction.

I don't even want a house, really. I want a nice 3-story townhome. First floor will be the parlor. 2nd Floor will have a half-bath, living area and kitchen. And the 3rd floor will have a master bed and a guest bedroom. That's all I want lol.

Or maybe a nice split level. I don't know why but I've always liked the idea of living in a split level house. I don't even think I know anyone who has one so why I'm so fascinated is beyond me lol.

I started fiddling around the internet and I never realized there were so many inexpensive properties around. It is quite tempting to add this endeavor into my 5-year plan. Hmm.

Who knows? Soon you'll be hearing I've become LadyNgo: Property Hunter lol.

Right Now

I feel like the universe is just playing a HUGE practical joke on me right now. I don't know how else to explain it.

But i also feel optimistic. So many things have been happening lately. Just gotta stay positive and keep going with the positive momentum i feel is building up.
