Lady Ngo's kitchen 2

Last February, I went to a Superbowl party with some friends of mine. One of the other guests brought these delicious ass brownies...that were filled with peanut butter and oreos. A new and quite satisfying combination for my oh so delicate palate.

In my boredom this weekend, I decided i would finally recreate (or attempt to at least)  this lil goody. Since this was my first go at it, i decided to make mini cupcakes rather than the big ones. They came out pretty darn good too. Especially while they were still warm.

Lil by lil, i'm getting the hang of this whole domesticated bit.

They were VERY simple to make. If you want the "recipe", lemme know.

All I Ever Wanted

Like a month or so ago, my supervisor told me that i had all this PTO (paid time off) i had to use...and i needed to use it BEFORE Christmas or i'd lose it. And you're typically supposed to give notice of when you wanna take your days off so somebody can cover your shift (an impossible task in my case as I have no co-workers to cover me). No Pressure.

After toiling over it for some time, I randomly decided to pick 3 clusters of days so that i wouldn't have to miss too many days all at once. What with Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas and New Years all being within a couple of weeks of each other, it still was quite a challenging task.

The first of these vacay clusters starts today. And i gotta say, this is truly a work of the divine, I have been BEYOND MISERABLE at work for the past like month lol. And now that i reached a serious melting point...i have time off to relax and decompress.

Oshe Baba!

Ms. Independent

I've almost always been fiercely independent...a loner of sorts. Partially because i was just raised that way. If YOU want something, YOU work for it. (Not to say that i'm not also a princess who could probably get whatever she wanted from her parents within reason lol). The same rings true til today.

Nowadays though, my independence stems from not wanting to feel indebted. What i've learned over the years, especially the last few years, is that things people do for you have a funny little tendency to grow strings. Things done for you, whether you asked for them or not, that were supposedly done out of friendship/love/concern all of a sudden become fodder to be thrown in your face when the spirit moves people.

Which is why i tend not to ask people for shit...even when i really need it.

Once bitten, twice shy.

I will go ahead and contradict this entire post by acknowledging a random act of kindness i recently (and quite unexpectedly) received. Don't think this post has anything to do with you. You know who YOU are lol. ;)
