Working at the Pyramid Tonight

Youtube is slowly taking over my life. The tv in my bedroom has literally turned into a bookshelf. Both my mother and my brother have actually come and asked me why i even have one since its never on lol. I asked them why the hell they have the ear to my door to know that my tv is never on. Boo-yah!

Over the past few months i have become quite enamored with the growing phenomenon that is the black webseries. Some of my favorites are:

The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl
The Unwritten Rules
The Couple
Brothers With No Game (for my friends in the UK lol)

I've also developed a major jones for watching people cook. Partially for educational purposes, partially for entertainment. Whats so entertaining about watching people cook...i'm not really sure but it is what it is.

And finally, Youtube is responsible for bringing Frank Ocean into my life. For the longest time the only song i ever bothered to listen to by him was Novacane (which is still my jam) and even that i didn't hear fully for the first time until like 3 months after the video came out. Truth be told, i probably never would have even bothered listening to him if not for that whole "is he gay? is he straight? omg he might be singing about a man so i'm not going to listen to his music anymore!" bullshit. All i can say is that that is one TALENTED man! I don't give a damn if he's singing love songs to Hitler...his voice soothes the hell outta me and makes we want to stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon YES! (please dont ask lol). Like i literally just spent a good hour listening to random songs of his last night. The guy is just amazing. I really don't even know what else to say about him. And apparently he looks like Red (so says mommy dearest) lol...though i doubt that plays a role in this infatuation.

Pyramids (warning- there's definitely a bit of T & A in the vid so if you aren't at home or don't have an office door, you might wanna skip this one for now)

Do You Mean It

I'm not a big fan of fake niceties in the first place, but if on Dec 15th you send me a message that says:
I'm going to find it extremely hard not to slap your face to believe that you actually mean it. Why can't you write it out? If you took the time to form as if you care, then you could have taken the extra 30 seconds or so to write it out.

Nonsense (and ingredient)! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

For the benefit of the audience HBD WULLNP = Happy Birthday, wishing you long life and prosperity

This rant was brought to you by the letter L (for lazy mofo's who can't wish people a happy birthday properly)

Hope you're all having a great week folks :)

The Thirst Is Real

If you've been following this blog long enough, then you've heard read my ranting and raving about my love/hate relationship with facebook. Most of the hate revolves around stupid fb statuses (which have gotten even stupider since last time i ranted- didn't even think such was possible) and weirdos (usually Nigerian in origin- sorry) trying to hit on me/set me up for the 419 okie-doke.

Well my newest issue with the facebook is all these thirsty ass niggas on my friend list. Like seriously, if i have to see another post/update letting me know that so-and-so likes Big Ol Booties, Freaks Only, Smuts Exposed, The Best Strippers, DAMN Look at them Titties, She Got a Donk, etc...i might just slap someone.

Gone are the days where people had some semblance of shame and watched their porno in a dark quiet corner, in a locked room, using the incognito feature so that their dirty websites don't leave a smut trail in their browser history. Now we're not only looking at smut on facebook, but we don't even hide it. SMH

Let 'em know Spongebob!
Its honestly making me want to unfriend people. I mean, people really sit around looking at titties and ass all day? To the point that they have to bring their thirst for the female anatomy to fb? Google images ain't enough?

Sometimes writing is enough

I think i've hit a wall with this blogging thing. If you could see how many posts i've written and not posted. eh. Its crazy. There's at least 30 or so unpublished posts now...and that's after deleting a double digit number of them. Granted, some of them have been chilling in the drafts for months, a lot of them are just from this summer.

The wall i've hit is not even with writing. I have tons and tons and tons of stuff i could be writing about. Its literally with wanting to share. I have all these things i want to jot down. But once it gets time to hit the publish button, i just say screw it. Some things have just been silly things (you know me and my foolishness by now), some have been serious things, and a lot has been personal.

Oh man, that personal stuff. Ay dio! It has been a tumultuous summer. Scratch that, its been a tumultuous life! All kinds of things that i've kept buried for days weeks months years have been bubbling to the surface lately. All sorts of repressed memories, drama, trauma, nonsense, etc just popping up out of nowhere. Probably has something to do with the fact that i've pretty much not been doing anything lately, which gives my brain plenty of time to wander those dark recesses.

I thought i could blog about this stuff...but i guess i can't. I type these write-ups and feel the weight lifting off my shoulders. But then i go to publish it....nope, not happening.

I guess, sometimes, just writing is enough.
