Its here

The muthaluvin zombie apocalypse is upon us. Hope you all have a game plan! Between naked dudes eatin other naked dudes faces off, dudes serving up french fried penis, mothers eating their babies, and dudes cutting out their intestines and throwin it at the police...its only a matter time. Screw it, the time is already here. Best of luck to you all. I would lend you a copy of my zombie survival guide but...its survival of the fittest out here and i can't be equaling the playing field!

Lessons from Baby Boy

Watched the clip? Ok good, now lets discuss...

I gotta say, i've always questioned the validity of that statement. "I lie to you cuz i care about your feelings" Hmmmm. Do any of you agree with the statement? Why or why not?

Round One

Round one of my weekend class is done and I can somewhat see light at the end of the tunnel.

I gotta say i feel so weird being in a classroom again, and with a different cohort than im used to...kinda. All of spring semester i had no actual lectures. So the last time i saw most of the people in this class was in December (save for the 2 that worked with me). Not to mention that an entire cohort (the co-hort i started with no less) has graduated, leaving only me and my homegirl behind. But this is our semester! By God's grace we shall not fail. We will survive Retention, we will pass our comprehensive exam with flying colors and we will walk proudly across that stage in August in our Master's regalia. Amen

Meanwhile, in the land of funny conversations with my parents. In a fit of frustration, i told my parents that i was chucking the deuces at graduate school and that i was going to be a pole dancer. What was my mother's response: Ok, well as long as you stay on the pole and out of the "back room" go for it! (o_0) Forreal Mom??? So i turned to my dad and said, you co-sign this? All he did was shrug his shoulders and went back to what he was doing. SMH. So i've let them know henceforth that any failures i experience is their fault for encouraging me to buss it wide open for a goon and that should i actually decide to take them up on this offer, they have no one to blame but themselves.

In other news, for those of you that of the praying variety, i ask that you send prayers and good vibes to one of my sorors who experienced serious complications in the birth of her baby girl last week. Mommy is ok but Baby Sophie is still in the hospital. Gracias in advance.

C'mon Man, Really?!?

A paedophile teacher who repeatedly raped a pupil under the pretence of giving her "extra science tuition" has been told he will be jailed for "a very long time".
Croydon Crown Court heard Ogunsola subjected the girl to three years of terror, telling her to wear skirts with no underwear so it was easier to have sex with her.
keith ogunsolaProsecutor Hanna Llewellyn-Waters told how the girl was intimidated into thinking no-one would believe her story against a teacher. When the pupil told Nigerian-born Ogunsola she wanted a boyfriend he "ripped off her clothes and raped her again".
But it is not the first time Ogunsola has been in court for sexually harrassing a student. In 2008, he grabbed a 14-year-old pupil and stuck his tongue in her mouth while they were in his school office.

He also asked girls in his chemistry class whether they had performed oral sex.
The court heard he had already been warned by the school's headteacher about his conduct with female students before the assaults took place. Ogunsola was cleared of two sexual assaults at that school in 2000 and another sexual assault at a different school in 2006.
Despite this, he was spared jail because of his "weak heart".
Ogunsola was told by the presiding judge: "You are going to prison for a very long time."

What the actual fuck?!? This doesn't even make any sense. So not only did this child have to endure this disgusting man, but there were others before and after her? At more than one school? And the school KNEW about it? At what point were they planning to (at least) fire this dude? When he freaking killed someone? Even if there is doubt, you need to at least put him on some sort of leave til the situation can be sorted out rather than let him continue to have easy access to young girls. SMDH. And add insult to injury, he hasn't been jailed because of a "weak heart"??? His heart wasn't too weak to rape/molest lil girls. Nasty Mofo.

Scratchin Me Up

I've been a horrible Trey Songz fan. Anticipation II mixtape has been out for how long and i'm just now getting around to listening to some of the songs?!? Especially since the original Anticipation mixtape is just so....*wooo-saaaaaah* Shame on me. But since i have taken the opportunity to let his sweet words soothe my ears, i figured i'd share my two faves at the moment:

Scratchin Me Up (Anticipation)

Still Scratchin Me Up (Anticipation II)

Yes Trey, i WILL take your pain if you take mine *bites lip, fans self, sashays away*

Encouraging Bad Behavior

Good day good people!

I had originally planned to write about the whole being a prude thing. I actually have the post written and was all ready to submit but there were some things in there...lets just say that the post spiraled a little out of control and started incorporating all sorts of thoughts i had from the wahala of yesterday. I took to twitter with my wariness about throwing caution (and possibly a blog friendship or 2) to the wind and posting it anyway. HoneyDame and my friend ChiChi said i should do it lol. LDP (whom i didn't even say proper good morning to...lo siento por eso) reminded me to be mindful of my words. So all the craziness will makes its way to the diary and the parts that made sense in the post will see the light of day eventually...or maybe not. Who knows. And if i feel like i need to have words with those of you whose souls would surely have been crushed had i actually hit the submit button, i will. Or maybe i won't. Again, who knows.

But for now i just want to shake my head *horizontally of course* at HoneyDame and ChiChi for trying to encourage my bad behavior lol.

Moving along. I've been in a very bleh mood for the past like 2 days. Almost every interaction i've had with other people has involved some level of drama/crazyness/make me wanna put my foot in their ass-ness. I don't know what it is. I think im stressed out. Too much is going on over here. But i will continue to put on a happy face and push through. What else can one do, right?

Oh Me, Oh My!

Hello everyone! I hope your monday is off to a wonderful start. The reason i am is here to make an announcement. It is with great pride and happy nether regions that i announce that sexy D'angelo is back!
June 2012 issue of GQ magazine
Considering his brief, unfortunate stint with complete unattractiveness (which should be against the damn law, btw) i am happy to see him looking sexy again. I mean honestly, he was decent looking back in the days of Me and Those Dreamin Eyes of Mine, Brown Sugar (it was years before i realized the song was about drugs and not sex lol) and Lady, but he set the whole damn block on fire with the Voodoo album and everyone's favorite: Untitled...

So you can imagine a sistah's disappointment when he went from the toe-curling, is it hot in here or is it just me, Lord please forgive these lustful thoughts inducing buffet of sexual chocolate you see above to:

So yes, now that he's sexy again, i'm a happy camper! :)

In other unrelated oh me, oh my news... Last night i was reading a random blog and i saw a comment by a young lady i know very well in real life...and ah man, it totally ruined my night. LOL. Over there talking about possible 3-somes, swallowing babies, her lack of a gag reflex, and other creative ways that she slobs the knob. I read it and literally covered my eyes and shouted Oh Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! *Yes it was that many o's...i counted* I had to get up and walk away from my computer. Ugh. I mean yeah, we all grown and i ain't throwing salt in anybody's game. Get it how you live boo. But ugh...there is something just so...NO... about talking about your sexual proclivities with the whole damn world. She didn't use her real name, she used a pseudonym (one that those of us that know her, know) BUT that was her real damn face staring back at me next to the comment.

IDK man!

Doing Good Deeds

This is my good deed for the weekend: Answer CherryWine's 11s Tag

The Questions

1.What is the one thing that frightens you the most? Losing the people that matter the most to me...
2.What song would you describe as your ‘theme song’ ie a song that best describes you or how you feel about yourself or certain issues? Get Along With You by Kelis
3.Kim Kardashian, the entire Jersey shore cast ( if they were formed into one body with a medusa head of all the cast members) and Nene Leakes; if you had one bullet, who would you shoot? I'd probably shoot myself in that scenario lol
4.What was the last most outrageous purchase you made? My college education...i'll be paying that off for the rest of forever
5.Is it best to have loved and lost or is it best to not love at all giving the possibility of heart break? Give reasons. (P:S: No BS sappy and generic answers too) I'd rather have never loved at all than deal with that bitch called heartbreak! At least then i don't know what i'm missing or the ridiculous amount of pain that comes when you lose it.
6.Tattoos or piercings. Which do you prefer and why? (‘neither’ is not an answer) Piercing i guess because they're pretty much guaranteed to stay the same whereas a tattoo will change as your body changes. (I have neither in real life- not even my ears)
7.Who do you love the most, your brother or your boyfriend? (If married, replace with husband) Give reasons I don't have a boyfriend so by default i have to say my brother lol. But i would say that the love i have for my brother is not the same and thus can't be compared to the love i'd have for my bf/spouse.
8.Is revenge ever justified? Give reasons Depends on who is trying to justify it. I'm sure if Billy raped Susie and the Susies brother Jimmy killed Billy, Susie's people might see it as justified but Billy's people wouldn't.
9.Is religion an important consideration in a relationship? Give reasons Of course. But whats important about it is not whether or not its present, but if the two people are on the same page about it.
10.If you were president for a day, what is the first thing you would do? Forgive all student loan debts that were accrued before 2009
11. What is your first memory of being aware of/attracted to someone of the opposite sex? When i was about 6 or so, there was this cuuuuuuuute older boy at the after-school center i used to go to. Henry Hall (or something like that) was his name. #Dreamy

Hello everyone. Its the weekend once again. Lets kick it off with some random thoughts:

Some of those lil hooligans that have been breaking into houses in my neighborhood got arrested the other day, not that it really matters because in a minute they'll be back out and back at it once again. All i can say is this is one makeshift neighborhood watch in Sanford that's actually doing what you're supposed to do. See something crazy- call the damn police and FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS!

And since we're on the topic of Trayvon Martin- i am so over this nonsense. I honestly don't even understand why there's a trial. There's nothing anyone can tell me that's ever going to change the fact that had George Zimmerman remained in his car that night like the police told him to, he wouldn't have killed anyone. How you can claim self defense in a fight you started (not to mention bringing a gun to a skittles and iced tea fight to begin with) is beyond me.

Every once in a blue moon i watch Mary Mary's reality show. I'm lyin a lil, this is only the 2nd episode i've ever seen. But um... HOT MESS DOT COM! I remember one of them finding out she was pregnant and then saying..."but i didn't want no more kids." Hmmm. You DO know where babies come from right??? #OkThen

I loooooooooooooooooove the Golden Girls. I can recite pretty much every single episode from start to finish. I'm gonna be so sad when Betty White passes on.

My brother just text me and asked me what kind of chocolate i want. Sometimes he's kinda awesome (even though im sure its my mommy who's really getting me the candy that i so desire lol)

Conversation with my mommy last night:
Mom: You should make dinner for us tonight
Me: Me, make dinner? You wanna live don't you?!?
Mom: Well what have you been doin all these years that you've not lived with us? It doesn't look like you've missed any meals so you've obviously been cooking something.
Me: Wait a minute, did you just make a fat joke???
Mom: I did not all i said was...
Me: all you said was that i'm fat mommy, i heard you!
Mom: urgh, whatever lil black girl
And thats how i got out of cooking dinner ^_^

What a friend we have in Jesus/All of our sins and griefs he'll bare/What a privilege to carry/Everything to God in prayer! (Im watching Mary Mary's show right now and the song came on...couldn't help singing along)

Be sure and say something nice to someone this weekend. Never know who's day it'll make. And to the person that's had an abundance of random nice things to say to me this past week or so (whether u meant it or not) - Thank You :)

Have a great weekend loveys!

For Real Though?!?

A Zimbabwean politician has sparked outrage by suggesting the spread of HIV can be curbed if women shave their heads, stop bathing and deliberately make themselves look unattractive.
Morgan Femai, an MDC-T senator for Chikomo said the measures were required because men were finding it difficult to resist well-dressed, attractive women.
He added: “They should also not bathe because that is what has caused all these problems.”
Senator Femai also appeared to suggest female circumcision would help stop the spread of disease.
He told the workshop, which was organised in conjunction with the National Aids Council: “Women have got more moisture in their organs as compared to men so there is need to research on how to deal with that moisture because it is conducive for bacteria breeding. There should be a way to suck out that moisture.”
According to Unicef figures from 2009, more than 14 per cent of the adult population in Zimbabwe have HIV/Aids.
Deborah Jack, chief executive of NAT (National AIDS Trust) told Huffington Post UK: "These suggestions of how to fight the spread of HIV are totally misleading and potentially really damaging.
"They also unfortunately shift focus away from the proven ways to prevent HIV transmission - being aware of the facts of how HIV is passed on, using a condom during sex and ensuring you are tested for HIV when you've put yourself at risk."
You can find out all you need to know about HIV by visiting HIVaware.
According to All Africa, another MDC-T Senator, Sithembile Mlotshwa (Matobo), recently suggested men be injected with drugs that reduce their libidos. She also called for prisoners to be given sex toys to satisfy their sexual desires.

You have got to be fucking kidding me. I have soooooooo many not nice things to say right now but i will just keep them to myself. SMH

Liebster Award

Gracias, Okeoghene for this award :)

So we're supposed to be shouting out other bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that we appreciate, are inspired by, blah blah blah. I originally had this whole mushy gushy post where i planned to spill my heart and deepest thoughts and appreciations for ppl but um...&%#$ that. Not today. So for the person i told to expect a special post today, i'm sorry that it turns out i lied to you a lil. I still might send you a special message just because i feel kinda bad lol. But for everyone else that i might've planned on hollerin at, I will just say that if you don't know by now that i like/love/adore/appreciate (whichever of those fit) you, then ask and i'll let you know! Who knows, by the time most of you read this i might be in the mood to give compliments.

Anywho, So i have this friend (you may recognize him from the Adventures in Gele Tying post) who recently made a music video. And since i luv him so, i am sharing it with you all. Enjoy.

I told you ppl we were just friends. Obviously Adaorah is his Fantasy Girl, not Ngozi! lol.

Moving right along: On Mother's Day we went out to dinner at Applebees (we're not fancy people o). When we got there, there was this family outside taking pictures. 3 things wrong with this scenario:

  1. The rude ass mofos were blockin the whole damn sidewalk
  2. They made a comment about how all 5 generations of the family were there...yet the oldest ppl there looked to only be about 60 years old at best
  3. They were dressed in their sunday best as if they were eating dinner at Chez Pierre or something.
Last thing: The summer semester has started. While i only have one class to take, i can already tell you it is going to kick my entire ass and half of yours as well! I probably should have read my syllabus more thoroughly when i got it a month and a half ago (as if getting it almost 2 months in advance was not enough warning for what i was getting myself into) because i'm dying already. Let me set the scene for you. I have class Friday 4-8:30, Saturday 8:30am (yes A-MUTHAFUCKIN-M as in, in the morning)-4:30pm and Sunday 1pm-4pm. By the first 3 class meetings i need to have:
  • researched issues of retention/attrition within a protected group/demographic of my choice;
  • read, write chapter by chapter summaries of, and compile a thorough list of test questions based off of 2 of my 5 textbooks;
  • read, comprehend and be prepared to speak intelligently on 2 300+ page reports and a 3rd report thats about 30 or so pages,
  • complete the 1st draft of a 15 page report/presentation though i have no idea what its about
And thats just the first weekend! This class is truly Satan's handiwork! But im almost done with book 1, skimmed through the reports and started flipping through book that's good. Well its a start at least. And the class only lasts a month, which is a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. But somehow in the mix of all of this, i'm supposed to be studying for my comprehensive exam which will be taking place a week or 2 after the class finishes. So on top of trying to do all this i also need to have in my head pretty much every single thing i've learned throughout my entire master's program. And no, they don't give the questions ahead of time. Yes they are all essays (7 to be exact...all of which should be at least 4 pages each) and you only get 3 hours to do it in. Nice. And people wonder why i have no desire to keep going with this nonsense and trying to get a doctorate (except i want that big fluffy hat and robe day if they start giving out Ph.Ds for underwater basket weaving maybe i'll take them up on it.) All i can say is thank goodness im temporarily unemployed cuz i surely would not have survived if i had to worry about a job too.

Hope everyone's week has been off to a great start :)

In my absence

Hmm...i can't rightly recall ever going this long without blogging (except maybe 1 or 2 times). Sure, i poked my nose around reading other people's blogs but didn't bother to write anything myself. I didn't even really miss it either. That's the really weird part. Oh well.

So in my absence i've just been wrapping things up at work. Getting all the residents out, getting the RAs through training (which was the most hellish 2 weeks of my life- and i'm sure of theirs too)...and some other stuff that i won't mention bwahahahahahaha *thats my evil laugh if you can't tell* Now i'm working on getting the hell outta here. After which i will be preparing for my summer class, my comprehensive exam and graduation.

As much as i've bitched and complained about work...i really am going to miss it and (almost) everybody i've encountered. It was definitely an emotional 2 weeks of training knowing that the majority of those people i'll likely never see again. And for some reason all my RAs (and the RAs from other communities that i've met along the way) were so...i don't even know the word for it. Every day of training was met with a chorus of "no, why are you leaving?" "please don't leave us" "remember that day/night when..." and "remember when resident so and so did blankety blank and we had to blase-blah?!?" I guess its times like this, when you know you're not gonna be seeing someone for a long time (if ever), that makes it much easier to appreciate them and remember all the good times over the times when you wanted to stick your head in a pot of boiling hot water until the bubbles stopped *how morbid was that lol*

Some other developments:
my niece and my god-daughter

baby bro and his prom date
  • My niece turned 6
  • My baby brother went to the prom
  • My LS accepted a position in TX making over 60k a year  and I am so damn proud of her
  • I found out that not only is there no way to get out of renting my cap, gown and hood for graduation- i can't even keep the hood AND they only give you 5 tickets to the ceremony. I had more than 5 people flying out for the ceremony, let alone my parents and siblings...come the eff on with that bs!
  • I got 2 As and a B for spring semester when i was positive that i was gonna get 2 Cs and an A lol
  • I got my DHRL cords for graduation. I honestly didn't think i was going to get them but...i did. Having a job does pay off lol. Im sure people are going to think they are for something special when they see me cross the stage with them on lol.
  • One of my RAs actually bought me a going-away present. She's so sweet.
  • I did have a lot of angry hostile things to say but i'm gonna be diplomatic and leave them for my diary instead.
  • Madame Okeoghene and Uche tagged me with that 11 thingy-thingy and with the Leibester Award. I'll get to that soon. Thanks tho :)

Stop and smell the roses

Its a new month so why not stop and smell the roses?!?

Yesterday i spent a great deal of time just looking out of my window. Not looking at anything in particular, just looking. It was a nice sunny day with a gentle breeze that caused the branches on the trees to sway. The sky was a pretty blue and filled with fluffy clouds.  There was a lot of hustle and bustle as residents and parents scampered about trying to move out of the dorms. I just watched in slight amusement. I remember those days (and in a week that'll be me too)

I've been here 7 months and never noticed these flower blooms growing on the tree outside my window. Wonder what else i've missed while i've been caught up in my own little world...

Happy new month everyone.

Sidenote: this vid is effin hilarious! lol
